Black Inventor Project

Projected due date has been extended till after the New York State ELA and Math Exams. New due date will be posted at that time.

1. Log onto www.swagga.com 

2. Scroll down to the Knowledge Center

3. Click on #4 Black Inventors

4. Read through the 144 contemporary inventors, and select one.

5. Conduct a Google Search, for both biographical information, photographs, and drawings of the inventor and the invention.

6. Second Internet Source:   http://www.black-inventor.com

7. Use biography of a person to create a PowerPoint Presentation.

8. Bullet Point format:  Slide with 3 to 4 lines of text.

Task: “Design a Black Inventor Power Point Presentation.”


Power Point Presentation must include:
• Background image that does not detract from text or graphics used.
• Appropriate style of Font, carefully placed to enhance readability and content.
• All content in presentation is accurate with no factual errors.
• Presentation has no misspellings or grammatical errors.
• All graphics are attractive and support the theme..
• Presentation must include transitions.
• Presentation must include animated text and or picture.
• Presentation must include a hyperlink.                                         • Presentation must include a source page.                                     • Extra Credit: record sound to your PowerPoint presentation.

4:  Above Average:
Fully accomplishes the purpose of the task. Student Exhibits clear understanding of Power Point software. 


3.  Average: Partially accomplishes the purpose of the task. 
Student Exhibits partial understanding of Power Point software, with few design and or layout errors. Student used 
appropriate style of Font.

2.  Below Average:
Student does not fully accomplish the purpose of the task.
Student exhibit some understanding of Power Point software, with multiple design and or layout errors. Could have 
used a more appropriate style of Font.

1.  Weak
: Purpose of task not accomplished.
Students exhibits little understanding of Power Point software, with incomplete design or layout. Student exhibits 
little to no understanding of appropriate style of font that should be used.
